Contamination in Truck Fuel Tanks
We have seen a recent spate of road haulage companies suffering from microbial contamination in fuel. Often hauliers put the problems down to dirty fuel and are unaware that sludge in fuel tanks is due to active microbial growth (fungi & bacteria) which will return again and again unless dealt with properly. Microbial contamination in road vehicle diesel is becoming more wide spread, possibly due to the increased use of biodiesels in fuel blends. The contamination develops due to microbial growth either in the fuel suppliers tanks, the hauliers storage tanks or in the road vehicle tanks themselves. The problem becomes apparent when vehicles suffer fuel filter plugging and fuel starvation issues.
ECHA Microbiology Ltd specialise in investigation of microbial contamination in fuel and have strategies and treatments available to keep you on the road. Contact us if your fleet is suffering from;
· filter plugging issues
· sludge in fuel tanks requiring frequent tank cleaning
· if you suspect you might be suffering from “BUGS IN FUEL”.
