From January 2008 ECHA Director, Graham Hill, will become Chairman of the International Association of Stability, Handling & Use of Liquid Fuels (IASH). Graham chaired the highly succesful 10th IASH conference in Tucson AZ in October 2007, attended by over 200 delegates. The 5 day conference was attended by key technical representatives of oil companies, pipeline operators, fuel users and goverment and military agencies and included sessions on Synthetic & Alternative Fuels, Biofuels, Aviation Fuels, Test technologies, Microbial Contamination amongst other topics.
The purposes of the Association are to promote research and experimentation on the scientific and operational factors that affect the stability and handling of liquid fuels during their manufacture and blending, transportation, storage, and use; and to provide a forum for the exchange of related ideas and information.
The next conference will be held in early October 2009 in a European location to be announced shortly.
