Microbiological Testing and R&D

ECHA has a fully equipped and professionally staffed microbiology laboratory.

Fully quality controlled, validated analysis techniques are employed to test for microbial contamination in a wide range of samples including:

  • Fuels and associated water
  • Lubricating, Hydraulic and other Oils
  • Metal Working Fluids and Industrial Process fluids
  • Cooling Waters
  • Potable waters
  • Crude Oils
  • Industrial and Consumer products
  • Paints & Coatings

These tests can be conducted as part of a routine monitoring programme (eg to ensure absence of operational problems in fuels and oils, for final product compliance, quality assurance, raw materials quality), or as an investigation into operational problems (eg to identify contamination sources, auditing of production facilities).

Where appropriate, standard test methods are employed or alternatively methods are tailor made to best meet the requirements of our clients. Many of our clients require more than just a numerical result and so within our reports we generally include comprehensive comments on the significance of results and recommendations for further actions.

Costs of analyses are variable depending on the type of analysis, number of samples and reporting requirements. As an example, a one-off comprehensive test of an oil sample can be conducted for around £50. Please contact us for detailed quotes.
