The IATA publication of December 2002 "Guidance Material on Microbiological Contamination in Aircraft Fuel Tanks" recommends that:

1. All tanks of aircraft are trested for microbiological contamination annually
2. Tanks of aircraft identified as high-risk should be tested more often e.g monthly
3. Sampling points should be cleaned with Isoproyl alcohol
4. One litre of sample is reccommened to maximise the chance of recovering water
5. Fuel and / or water should be tested

The MicrobMonitor2 Aircraft Sample Pack has been devised to enable aircraft fuel sampling in compliance with IATA guidlines. It also enables easy separation of fuel and water to allow easy testing of both fuel and water phases. It is supplied sterile with a pack of alcohol wipes for cleaning sampling points.
